Employee Motivation
Figure 01:
Employees who are unmotivated can be a problem for any company, and poor employee performance can have serious ramifications. It is vital to have the ability to create a dynamic work environment, and planning must take into account how motivation influences employee satisfaction and performance. All managers must be able to motivate their employees, which needs a comprehensive understanding of motivation. Inexperienced employers frequently describe employees who appear to be disengaged as lazy. A person described in this way is always weak or uninspired. This, however, is not the case. The reason for this is that motivation is a result of a person's interaction with their surroundings.
What is the definition of employee motivation?
Employee motivation refers to a company's employees' degree of devotion, enthusiasm, and creativity during the workday.
Maintaining and enhancing workplace motivation can be a challenge for many businesses, as not every task is engaging. As a result, companies must devise strategies to keep their personnel motivated.
The Motivation Process
Figure 02:
Why is it critical to keep employees motivated?
Consider a worker who isn't extremely motivated at work. They're presumably working more slowly, avoiding duties, and staring at their phones. They're also unfocused and don't put any effort into their task.
This is not just a waste of resources, but it could also hurt other employees, preventing the entire organization from delivering high-quality work or reaching crucial deadlines.

Motivational Styles
Motivation can be divided into two categories.
1. Intrinsic
Intrinsic motivation is defined as doing something just for the pleasure of doing it rather than for a secondary gain.
2. Extrinsic
Completing a task or acting in a certain way for reasons other than self-interest, such as avoiding punishment or obtaining a reward, is an example of extrinsic motivation. For example, you are learning Japanese because you want to learn something new, not because it is required for your current position.
Meyer and Allen (1991). The following is the variable that has a direct impact on employee motivation. The regular process by which a person acquires information, skills, and abilities is known as training. Training tactics that are used have a direct or indirect impact on employee motivation and dedication to the company.
